Nusa Lembongan and its vibrant sea
After the 30 minute fast ferry from Bali we arrived at the floating harbour of Jungutbatu on the Island of Lembongan and stepped into a little bit of paradise, we have a few days here for a slower pace of life… not that we were rushing anyway.
What a fabulous stay we have had on Nusa Lembongan. We hired a buggy to tour this small island and walked across yellow bridge to the neighbouring island of Ceningan. These islands have some spectacular coastline, apart from the white coral sand beaches and seaweed farms there are the rugged cliffs and the formations of devils tears and blue lagoon which were mesmerising. Snorkelling was great and the boat ride in the mangroves serene. Now time to move on, a 3 hours ferry to the Gili Islands…. Next stop Gili Air

Thank you Eha. We have seen several seaweed farms now. The first one we saw was in Zanzibar many years ago and the women were just sat all day in the sea harvesting it. Who knows what they look like at the end of the day, I go wrinkly after a 20 minute swim 😆🤣

I’ve been following along with Michaela on Instagram. I’m definitely putting the Gili islands and Lembongan on the list for next year..limited travelling for this year with the house move.

Thank you. I am sure you will like them when you visit. Gili Air seemed to have the right mix of quiet and good restaurants, for us a anyway, particularly the harbour end. Hope you get there next year 😊

Yes, not our first seaweed farm, we were fascinated when we saw our first one on Zanzibar, the ladies sat in the water all day in wet clothes harvesting it, not the most enjoyable job!
