Another Week In Pictures: Homeward Bound
Our last full day in Mostar brings what is easily the best weather for quite a while, a beautiful sunny warm day to give us our last views of this remarkable city. Tuesday morning sees us hauling the backpacks through pre-dawn dark streets to catch the early bus across the border, arriving in Split before lunchtime.
Split is a city we last saw just over five years ago, and we have good memories – well, apart from when we got stuck in a lift. Anyway, this week we’re granted two days of sunshine to enhance the city’s engaging seafront. Cruise ship passengers pour through the city as we enjoy the last few days of this long journey through Europe. Photographs from our two days here….
Thursday comes and we head home. Across three months we completed our offbeat journey all the way from Porto to Mostar, through cities, mountains, islands and spectacular scenery. It’s been another great voyage.
Home now, we’re not likely to be posting on here and the taking of a break from posting on this site will take a fuller effect now, at least for a while. We may return when we travel to India in December, but for now it’s a goodbye and a big thank you to everybody who read, commented and joined us on our journeys across the world over the last few years.

Split look like a fabulous place for a few days, out of season possibly. I’ve so enjoyed your posts Phil and hope to see you writing again soon. I don’t think it will be too long before we see you again, your hands will be itching to tap away at that keyboard before too long ☺️

I really like Split and you’ve shown how it is possible to escape the crowds in places 🙂 I do hope you decide to blog again when you start your India trip as I know I’m going to miss your posts and that’s such a fascinating country to write about! Well, we are likely to be here now until probably the first week of December. Obviously there’s some things in the diary (including a few days in Cornwall of course!) so if you WhatsApp some dates or send to Michaela’s FB we’ll find a date that suits all 😊

It seems my previous words failed to cross land and sea? Loved the photo journey wickedly wondering whether pairs of wet washed panties ever lay on the narrow cobbled streets of Split? Thank you again for being able to be a birdie on your shoulder thru’ the Med.. I do ‘meet’ you on IG, but also hope you will feel like writing the occasional blogpost when you reach India – have meant to go three times in my life (well, it has not happened!) and am hugely interested! Be well, be happy a don’t be totally quiet 🙂 !

The end of another wonderful trip across Europe. Thank you for all these open windows. I also enjoyed my visit to Split, which to me resembles several mixed-up jigsaw puzzles, with monuments from different eras standing side by side or in the middle of each other. Will we ever know if you jumped off the Mostar Bridge?
