Difficulty Leaving Comments?
You may be having difficulty leaving comments on our site. Likewise we are having the same problem leaving comments on everyone else’s. As far as we can see, WP have made some changes and something has gone badly wrong with the comments process.
We have found a way round it for now which appears to work. If you access any site via the “reader”, instead of via the link from the email, and then select “see all comments” at the foot of the article, it then enables you to comment. It’s a bit of a pain but it does seem to get round the problem. Although it doesn’t usually allow you to “like”, which you can only do if you access via the email!
We have contacted WP to advise them of the apparent error. If you have time (and are experiencing the same difficulty and lack of comments on your own site), then do the same – we need to bombard them with it till it’s sorted!

It’s not just your site, I’ve had problems with a few others. Whenever I press like it takes me back to the precious site I’ve looked at, very bizarre. Also depends which device I’m using

It has been a frustrating couple of weeks. Hopefully WP will work it out soon. Until then, I am using Reader to read and comment. Maybe that is what they are hoping to accomplish??

I’ve had what I think are related problems on my site, where many comments have been appearing as anonymous even though they are from regular commenters. Another of the bloggers I know has contacted WP about that issue, which is affecting him too, so I’ll let you know if he gets any joy. It’s a real pain and putting me off posting 🙁

It’s been very annoying, but at least using Reader to comment has been working. Hope the issue is resolved quickly.

I had no idea other people were having all these problems too! After several articles of having to play detective to work out whose comments belong to who it all seems to be back on track today. Hope we all have a smoother week moving forward.

I have the same problem with some sites, a minority. In order for my comment to be accepted, I have to take the option to log out and then fill in my email/name/URL in the proposed questionnaire. I just have to log in again after that.

I too have had problems making comments directly at the bottom of a post of several sites even if I am logged in. When I fill in my details again I have been receiving a message telling me my comment is a duplicate comment! Hope it is fixed soon. Yes, I am making this comment from Reader. Cheers, Mark
