Map of Jordan in the Middle East

It’s time to be getting excited again, as we are now within ten days of our next adventure, this time a trip into ancient cultures and ancient sites. Jordan is the destination, with a 10-day stay of great variety and what promises to be a whole host of new experiences.

We love Middle Eastern food but have never experienced it in its homeland; our love of different cultures and enjoyment of ancient sites will be richly rewarded. We’ve already visited many wonderful places and absorbed the ancient histories of such awe inspiring sites as the Taj Mahal, Monte Alban, Ostrog Monastery and the Rialto Bridge; the Blue Mosque, the Palace of Versailles and Ait Ben Haddou; yet this trip could be up there with the best.

From Amman we will head first to Petra for three days, it’s then off to the desert and Wadi Rum for three days and nights in a Bedouin camp village, then back to Amman for a proper look at the capital city via the long drive north up the Dead Sea Highway.

It’s actually difficult to say how much we are looking forward to this. And it’s all just ten days away.
