Our Next Adventure: Nairobi To Cape Town Through 7 Countries
Yep, that’s what we’re doing next. In the middle of July we’ll be flying out to Nairobi, so making Kenya the first of seven countries on our slow journey from there to the continent’s southern coast. We will be starting with only an outline plan of our route, a framework which contains a number of definites and several “must sees” but with a variable plan which is likely to evolve and change as we make our way southwards. All seven countries will be, for us, new African ground. Where Next?
Since arriving back in the UK from Greece, our thoughts have straight away turned to where we can go next and, despite travel restrictions having been given welcome simplification recently, there is still a minefield of information to work through in order to make any plans. Our first thoughts were to take a relatively short break soon, and then after that, depart for another lengthy trip probably starting just before Christmas. And so began our wading through that minefield, bearing in mind that any destination which requires quarantine on arrival is not in our thoughts. Time is moving on and the anticipation and excitement is growing; we’ve moved into the last 100 days before our lifetime adventures of long term travel begin with a flight to Bangkok. Continuing our summary of all that there is to do when planning a major trip and a long spell away from home. Our retirement is imminent and our lifetime adventure starts at the end of January.
